It is a calm, practical, and genuinely thoughtful space for wheelchair users, disabled guests, carers, neurodiverse travellers, families, and older visitors who want a relaxing break in rural Normandy. The property sleeps up to six guests and includes three carefully considered bedrooms. The main accessible bedroom on the ground floor features a profiling double bed with a ceiling track hoist, a wheelchair height clothes rail, a TV, and direct access to an ensuite wet room. The wet room has a roll in shower, raised toilet, handrails, and several seating options to suit different needs. A second single bedroom has been created with neurodiverse guests in mind. It has soft colours, minimal furnishings, a connected games console, and noise cancelling headphones to help create a low stress environment. The spacious basement bedroom includes a double bed, tea and coffee facilities, a fridge, and access to a private bathroom with a bath, WC, and basin. A modern sofa bed in the lounge can sleep one or two additional guests when required. The wheelchair accessible kitchen is fully equipped with a low level oven, hob, sink, dishwasher, air fryer, washing machine, and fridge freezer. Adaptive items such as easy grip controls, adapted cutlery, a food blender, and a sippy cup are also provided. The dining area offers space for up to six guests. Plug sockets and light switches have been placed at accessible heights throughout, with visual aids for guests who are visually impaired. Outside, the private decked courtyard garden is a peaceful space for outdoor meals or quiet time. A dedicated gravel toilet area for assistance dogs is included, and the entire home is dog friendly. The property also comes with a wide range of equipment to make travelling easier, including a Repose pressure relief mattress, weighted blanket, slide boards, a wakey shakey alarm, touch sensitive lamps, and communication cards. If guests need something specific, the owner is happy to help source it. Sourdeval is an ideal base for exploring Normandy. Local bakeries, cafés, and the lively Tuesday market are all just a short walk away. The nearby town of Vire offers shops, restaurants, a swimming pool, and bowling. Domfront, with its medieval charm, cobbled streets, and late summer festival, is easily reached and manageable for power assisted wheelchairs. Live music takes place every Wednesday by a nearby lake during summer months, adding to the friendly local atmosphere. The Normandy beaches and many World War II sites are also within driving distance, including the Caen Memorial Museum and more than thirty other historic attractions. Rates start from €140 per night with a minimum stay of seven nights. Tourist tax is charged separately.
