This award winning, stone built cottage sits in a peaceful position on the western side of the estate, alongside Curlew and Merlin Cottages, and enjoys uninterrupted views across open fields and distant moorland.
Designed with comfort and accessibility in mind, Kestrel Cottage is Mobility M2 graded, making it an excellent choice for disabled holidays in Northumberland. Entry is via a gently ramped path that leads into a wide, tiled hallway. Level thresholds, wide doorways, and a spacious layout ensure smooth movement throughout the cottage.
The contemporary kitchen features granite worktops, a large American style fridge freezer, dishwasher, washer dryer, and everything needed for relaxed self catering. The oak dining table seats ten, creating the perfect space for shared meals. In the separate living room, floor to ceiling windows frame stunning countryside views. Guests can relax in front of the log burning stove or enjoy a film on the large Smart TV. Doors open directly from the living room onto a private sandstone terrace and garden.
Sleeping arrangements include a large master bedroom with a super king bed, en suite, and TV, as well as two bright twin rooms. One of the twin bedrooms has its own en suite, while the spacious family bathroom includes a bath and a roll in power shower. Grab rails are fitted, and a shower wheelchair or bath seat can be provided on request.
Parking is located directly beside the cottage, and a level path leads to the entrance. A dedicated EV charger adds extra convenience for guests travelling with electric vehicles.
During your stay, guests have full access to the Beacon Hill Spa, which is open every day of the year from 7am to 9pm. The spa is a short garden lined walk from the cottage and is wheelchair accessible. Facilities include a 31 degree heated pool, Jacuzzi, steam room, Canadian redwood sauna, and the peaceful Laconium Therapy Room with heated body form beds, gentle aromatherapy, and ambient music. The spa has no internal steps, and although the WC has restricted space, it is reachable and suitable for transfer.

Children can make the most of the indoor heated Games Room, which includes pool, table football, air hockey, table tennis, and a lounge area with sofas and television. Outside, a covered adventure playground offers climbing frames, monkey ladders, swings, a Wendy house, and a Tarzan course. Younger guests also have access to a football pitch, cricket net, croquet lawn, and a 14 foot trampoline with safety net. Nature loving families will enjoy the Harry Potter Trail in the 40 acre woodland where children can explore, build dens, or cook sausages over a supervised campfire. Children can also help feed the friendly ponies and goats.
